THE PETTITT'S SuperValu Wexford Half Marathon & Relay will take place on the May Bank Holiday weekend next year. Last year saw over 1,000 participants take to the streets. Organisers believe that having it on the Bank Holiday weekend might be an extra stimulus to bring more people to County Wexford for the whole weekend.

THE WOLVES game has come and gone. It was a positive experience for both clubs and that's important. The young Wexford Youths players will not forget it and hopefully the opportunity to play against Wolves will facilitate their development.

Mervue Utd recorded their third win in eleven months at happy hunting ground, Station Road, as they moved ten points clear of bottom of the table Kildare County after this 1-0 win tonight. A second half cracker from young 18 year old midfielder Pat Hoban settled this contest and has surely confined Kildare to a second successive bottom finish and another relegation play-of  

Shamrock Rovers have regained top spot in the League of Ireland Premier Division with a dramatic 1-0 defeat of old rivals Bohemians at Tallaght. Padraig Almond scored the winner ten minutes from time while League of Ireland record goalscorer Jason Byrne skied a late penalty over the bar for Bohs. Rovers now hold a two-point advantage into the final six games of the season. "We're delighted you know I don't think it was a great game to watch to be honest I think it was a scrappy kind of game.

YOUNG PEOPLE from New Ross and Enniscorthy were spared none of the shocking effects of irresponsible driving when they took part in a Rotary awareness programme at the Wexford Youths Football Complex. Students from St. Mary's Secondary School, New Ross, and Colaiste Bride, Enniscorthy, were the first participants in a new series of sessions hosted by the Rotary Club of Wexford with the help of an Garda Siochana, road accident victims, insurance industry representatives and Accident and Emergency staff fr  

WITH just more six league games remaining – three home and three away – the old cliché of 'every game is now a cup final', comes into play and it was never more apt than last Friday night in Morton Stadium when Sporting Fingal took on and beat mid-table Finn Harps. The prospect of two First Division clubs contesting this year's FAI Cup final remains a possibility after Sporting Fingal and Wateford United were kept apart in the draw for the semi-finals. Last night, Wexford Youths pulled off a 1-0 league victory over Fingal at Morton Stadium. Attention switches to the Setanta Cup later today, when St Pat's will be in action against Derry City.  

Wexford Youths and Longford Town played out a 1-1 draw at Ferrycarrig Park on Friday night. Mick Wallace's side took the lead in the 75th minute when Gary Sheahan acrobatically slotted home from the rebound of a Jimmy Keohane strike. However, their lead was short lived when Derek Glynn equalised in the 79th minute from insdie the box for a deserved draw, but it does neither side any favours.
